If you are thinking about your summer holiday maybe you should consider renting a holiday cottage.  Taking a holiday cottage for a week or a fortnight means that you will have a home away from home in a beautiful location of your choice.

Holiday cottages in the UK can be rented for a week for about the same amount as one person going on a quality “package” holiday to a hotel.  Although staying at a hotel has its obvious benefits, such as not having to make your bed or cook your food, you do have to comply with the hotel timetable to some extent.  You can use room service to vary your meal times and increase the convenience but this will become extremely expensive.  If you decide to rent a holiday cottage instead you will have a lot more space and privacy, possibly also a private garden and pool.

Most holiday cottages now have well equipped kitchens and comfortable bedrooms, as well as comfortable living areas.  A real benefit of renting a holiday cottage is that you will be able to stock up your kitchen and do your own cooking as you please, ideal if you have someone in your party on a special diet for health reasons.  No set meal times means that you are free to plan your days as you like, and not be tied in to any schedule.

When choosing a holiday cottage you will find that there are a wide variety of locations to choose from.  The South of France is very popular, and also closer to home, areas such as Wales, Yorkshire or Cornwall are all places that have plenty of holiday cottages to choose from.  You can choose to rent a holiday cottage for as long as you like, however the majority of people choose to stay for just a week.  There will usually be parking available for your vehicle and often any heating and electricity cost are included in the rental.
