Wonderful Venetian fortresses can be found in and around the town, with tours taking visitors through the winding passages of the fortifications. Exploring the island further, visitors will find a wealth of other fascinating historical structures and sights. Charter flights go directly to Corfu and are available throughout the summer months. International scheduled flights, meanwhile, first go to Athens where domestic flights continue on to Corfu. Alternatively, regular ferries head to the island from the Italian coast. Island hopping is easily arranged once in Corfu itself.
